Word of mouth is a great way to get new business, but it is painfully slow. Particularly slow when you don’t have a robust roster of customers. With a little work, you can speed up the process.
How to find an audience to convert into customers:
1. Buy a notebook and title it Observations. Carry it with you every day and write your observations in it.
2. At the end of each week: review your observations, think about why you were moved to record them.
3. Distill your thoughts and write about them on your blog, on your Facebook page and on Twitter.
4. Do it every week for a year.
Here is what will happen:
You will become a better writer
Your thoughts and philosophy will become clear and easy to articulate
You will be able to express in one sentence that which used to take a paragraph
You will develop a fan base of like-minded horsemen
You will wonder why you didn’t do this sooner.
